AOSC 22-31 | IN RE: LOCAL RULE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

In accordance with Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.140(h), the chief justice may appoint a Local Rule Advisory Committee to make recommendations to the Supreme Court concerning local rules and administrative orders submitted pursuant to Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.215(e). Accordingly, I hereby appoint a Local Rule Advisory Committee, for a term to expire on June 30, 2024.

Court committees are a vital component in the governance of the judicial branch because they assist in the development of policies and operating procedures that enhance the administration of justice. In performing its responsibilities, the Local Rule Advisory Committee shall be guided by the goals of the Long-Range Strategic Plan for the Florida Judicial Branch 2022-2027. Specifically, in furtherance of Long-Range Issue 1 (Deliver justice effectively, efficiently, and fairly), the committee should encourage the use of consistent practices and procedures statewide.

Judge Ross L. Bilbrey shall serve as Chair of the committee through June 30, 2024. The Local Rule Advisory Committee shall submit its recommendations to the Clerk of the Supreme Court of Florida or as directed in the referral letter. Staff support shall be provided by the Office of the State Courts Administrator.
