DE MINIMIS NON CURAT LEX: Lat.: the law does not care for small things; the law does not bother with trifles.
EXAMPLE: Cy is arrested for possession of one marijuana cigarette. Although marijuana possession has not been decriminalized in the state where Cy is arrested, the prosecutor decides not to prosecute Cy for the possession since it is only a de minimis infraction
